The GE Art Program & Picture That, LLC are pleased to present "New Visions for Tomorrow". This year's Asian Pacific American Month exhibition presents the work of 4 very distinct artists. The relationship between mankind and nature has never been pronounced or precarious. These 4 artists represent a potent spectrum of various understandings and interpretations of that connection.
The monumental structures that inhabit Paul Ching-bor’s work remind us of man’s ability to create and build, but that there is also an eventual cost and burden to such singular focus. Cheol Yu Kim’s work also seeks to reveal an underlying structure to our surrounding world, but his work offers a more surreal, even whimsical vision of a universe somewhat unto itself. Part Landscape, part microbial, part fantasy...it is hard to know whether a microscope is being held up to reveal an inner world of mystery or we are looking out upon an unknown undiscovered variation on life and existence.
