Val Tukonivit

I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand and immigrated to the United States over 15 years ago. Art did not really come into my life until about five years ago when I discovered my passions for creating art works: paintings, drawings, and sculptures. I have taken many art classes from different places and my work has been exhibited at various venues. Many of my paintings are inspired from Florence, Italy and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We, human beings, perceive beauty in different subjects and objects. My goal as an artist is to show viewers beauty through my eyes in landscapes, especially architectural structures. I seek to represent structures in close up point of views, emphasizing the beauty of shapes, lines, forms, and colors. For me, my paintings are not meant to be photographic representations, but reflections of my feelings at a given moment in time.
