Terry Strickland

Terry Strickland received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida in Graphic Design and worked in commercial art in the sportswear field. Strickland also worked as an artist for a publishing company that produced board games and was a courtroom sketch artist as well as an art teacher. In 2005, she left commercial work and became a full-time artist. Strickland says for as long as she can remember she has been interested in the face and the figure as a way to convey the human condition in her paintings. She expresses that painting the human figure and still life objects challenges her to "capture small nuances in relationships, life, death and love." Strickland’s realist work has been featured in The Artist Magazine, Southwest Art, Drawing Magazine, and other art publications.
