Sebastián Vallejo
Sebastián Vallejo was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and received a BFA from the University of Puerto Rico. In 2009, he received an MFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Vallejo describes his paintings as being the aesthetic relationship between organic and inorganic form--inspired by qualities that exist in nature, light and colors of the Caribbean, especially true in Puerto Rico.
Vallejo has been exhibited at the Museo de las Américas and in the Museo de Arte de Caguas, both in Puerto Rico. In 2009, he won the second prize in the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation Visual Arts Juried Competition of Chicago. Vallejo’s work has appeared in numerous collective exhibitions in Chicago and Puerto Rico.
