Leonkadia Cermakova

Leokadia Makarska-Cermak is the artistic name of Leokadia Cermakova. Originally from Poland, she has exhibited her paintings widely throughout Europe and the United States. She is also a trained architect, an expert examiner of furniture, and a restorer of artistic interiors. Since 1998, she has been working as the sole curator and in-house artist of the Grand Prospect Hall, a 19th century landmark in Brooklyn, where she has been providing artistic restoration of the Victorian interiors, including gilding, painting, and sculpturing.

Makarska-Cermak has received numerous Fine Art and Art Expo Interior Design awards. Her work has been featured on TV programs in Poland and in the New York area. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art Administration/Art History with Cum Laude honors from the Weissman School of Arts & Sciences at Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York, her Master's Degree in Education from the Thomas G. Masaryk College of the Czech Technical University (CVUT)in Prague, and her Master’s Degree in Architecture from Technical University in Zvolen in the former Czechoslovakia. In addition, she pursued five years of independent studies in drawing, painting, and sculpture in the Czech Republic, Italy, and the U.S.
