Philosophy
As an artist, I have been inspired to create art that reflects the cultural variety of our United States. As a result I have created hundreds of works that have been on display throughout the east coast, with a heavy concentration of these works having been exhibited and purchased in the tri-state area. My work has also inspired me to my current occupation as a professional cultural drummer and drum maker, focusing on indigenous music and instrumentation of Africa (West, North, South, East & Central),Cuba, Brazil, Asia and Native America. Through Henry Jones Art, I have also managed to have collected over thirty (30) authentic masks, dated instruments and statues that I exhibit from time to time with my original art. These artifacts coupled with my original art often serve to open up greater lines of communication as it pertains to interpreting the various energies that I attempt to display in my work. I believe the phrase "to each his own" however, I also believe that "all people are some how connected"......my goal is to find connections and celebrate those connections through music and art.
