Helene Napolitano
Helene S. Napolitano, Ph.D., Professor of Education Emeritus at Marymount Manhattan College, a 36 year Stamford, CT resident, has, after a long career in teaching, changed focus and is now painting for FUN!
She was a student in Alex McFarlane's classes, for one, in the Silvermine Guild Arts Center, New Canaan, CT and is currently a member of the Easton Arts Council; New Canaan Society for the Arts; Rowayton Arts Center and the Stamford Arts Association. At each of these centers, she exhibited in both juried and non juried shows. An ink drawing, "Top Views of New Canaan", was shown at the New Canaan Library’s community art show, 2008. Two of her watercolors, "Cautious on Cape Cod" and "Dune Grasses", and one egg tempera, "Red Sails in East Marion", were sold at the June 2010 New Canaan Carriage Barn "Plein Air" fundraiser. Five small watercolors were sold at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center 2008 and 2009 "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" fund raisers. Helene enjoys painting subjects primarily in Stamford; New Canaan, CT; Cape Cod, MA; and Long Island, NY’s North Fork.
She received honorable mention for an egg tempera, "Pleasant Bay, Cape Cod", in the Stamford Art Association Vivian and Stanley Reed Marine Show, May-June 2010. "Welcome! Italian Center Pool", an egg tempera, was shown at the Inaugural Exhibition "Stamford" at the new Ferguson Library Main Auditorium Gallery November 2010 through January 2011. Her watercolor painting, "Farmshed in the Meadow", was exhibited in the "Facades" show at the Ferguson Library Main Auditorium Gallery January through April 2011. "The Seasons", a watercolor, was shown at the "Trees" exhibition in the Wilton library, fall 2011; the same was exhibited in the Easton library, winter 2011.
