Fanzia Murphy

The Mississauga artist was born in Trinidad, West Indies and relocated to Canada in her early teens. Although her university and college education was not in the discipline of Fine Art, Fanzia studied art in Trinidad as well as during her continuing education in Ontario. Fanzia is a self taught artist in many regards and is always experimenting on different genre. Her earliest work was of sail boats in pen and ink.

Fanzia’s paintings depict her love of the ocean which is a large part of her work; ocean sunsets are the most popular with her clients.

This artist’s work ranges from her specialty of original, tropical beach scenes to painting of classic reproductions of the French Impressionists which was Fanzia’s inspiration to paint. The medium used for painting is acrylic, while she also utilizes charcoal and pencil for other work.

Fanzia’s work forms part of many private collections in Canada, the Caribbean and England. Art by Fanzia is on display at Crescent Hill Gallery in Brampton and has been shown by request at many different functions. Fanzia is represented by Agora Gallery, located in Chelsea and SoHo in New York, where she exhibits.
