Cora Marshall
Dr.
Cora Marshall is an artist, educator and scholar. She received her
B.F.A. from Howard University with a major in art and a minor in
education, a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College
of Education with Parsons School of Design, and her doctorate in
art from New York University. She has over 24 years of teaching
experience and has served as Curriculum and Staff Development Specialist
for the Alexandria City Schools in Virginia. Currently, Dr. Marshal
is an associate professor of art at Central Connecticut State University.
There she teaches research, theory and practice in Art Education
as well as classes in Video Art and other studio areas. As a visual
artist, Dr. Marshall is currently working in and across the medium
of painting, photography and video. Her work has been exhibited
nationally and internationally, including the Kenkelaba Gallery
NYC, A.I.R. Gallery NYC, Hammonds House Gallery and Center for African
American Research, Atlanta, Skylight Restoration Gallery in brooklyn,
Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Rosenburg Gallery at NYU and with
the National Conference of Artists in Kumasi, Ghara. Dr. Marshall
has presented at numerous professional venues including the Wadsworth
Atheneum in Hartford, Cornell University, Columbia University Teachers
College in NY and Southern Connecticut State University, in New
Haven.
