Made
in the Philippines, but a product of USA, is my introduction of
my ethnicity. I grew up in New York City with an older sibling.
I started with a Canon SLR hand-me-down camera from my brother.
In the late 80's, I studied arts at Hunter College, worked in
photo studios and assisted local photographers. Inspired by those
who helped me, eventually photography became my hobby. I would send
greeting cards to friends using my photo work as post cards. Impressed
by my work, I was invited to my first gallery opening, 'Small Works
Exhibition' in December of 1994 at the Multi Media Arts gallery,
Soho, New York. That success lead to other gallery openings, 'My
Other Half --Images of 'Love in the Gay World' in June of 1995 also
in Soho, New York, and at the Cultural Arts of Lower Manhattan "Speed
Limit" at REDHEAD Project Space 'Older Women Artists Aren't
Getting Their Due.' While my work is a 'work-in-progress,' I hope
to fill the world of arts with the secret beauty of what I see and
conveying it through photographs.
